Time To Start Qwickin’?
Welcome to the 1st edition of the Do Not Save Money Newsletter! This week, we’re focusing on the gig economy staffing company Qwick.
Qwick is one of the leading short-term staffing companies for hospitality workers. In other words, it helps connect restaurants and businesses with talented service workers, typically for one-off events. For example, a business throwing a company party might hire Qwick to help staff the event. Then, Qwick sends the work opportunity out to its community of professional hospitality workers.
Qwick currently works with 6,000+ businesses including the 4 Seasons LA, Hilton San Diego, the Straz Center, and more. When you sign up for Qwick, you can choose your own shifts, set your own schedules, and work on your own terms.
If you have experience as a server, bartender, busser, or something similar and want to make some extra cash then you’ll definitely want to check it out.
How Much Can You Make?
Most Qwick shifts typically range from $20-$30 per hour and Qwick advertises that it offers 20 different types of shifts.
The amount that you can earn depends on the number of shifts available in your area as well as how many you decide to work. However, assuming most shifts pay $25 per hour and are around 5 hours, youcan expect to earn between $100-$150 per shift. So, if you work 3 shifts each week then you can earn $450 weekly or $1800 monthly.
On top of that, Qwick pays workers on the same day. Usually, in as little as 30 minutes after your shift.
Getting Started on Qwick
After creating an account, the only thing that Qwick requires is that you attend a 5-minute virtual orientation. During this orientation, Qwick’s management will typically ask you a little bit about your experience in the serving industry. On this call, they will also give you a brief overview of their service.
This orientation is technically an interview. But, as long as you’ve got some past experience in the hospitality industry then they should be happy to welcome you to the Qwick platform.
So far, Qwick has about 525,000 service freelance workers serving at event venues like stadiums, casinos, and country clubs. For the right person, it’s a great way to make a little extra side income.
